Parking Lot Expansion Update | |
Scripps
Miramar Ranch Library is proud to present our new and improved upper
parking lot, now available for our patrons to use! The lower
lot is closed for construction. The number of on-site parking
spaces is still limited. Thus those who are
physically able are encouraged to utilize the overflow parking along
Meanley Drive which also includes more than 30 spaces in the
water department parking lot and can be accessed from Meanley Drive just
before entering the small roundabout. Parking Map and directions

Calling all Local Artists!
Help the
Scripps Miramar Ranch Library design our Odi button for this year's
Where's Odi program. Odi the coyote is the San Diego Library mascot.
YOUR button design could be chosen to represent the Scripps Miramar
Ranch Library and made into buttons to give out to EVERY visitor who
finds Odi hidden in our library in July.
To submit a
design, simply print the image to the left on a 8.5 by 11 page
and add your design to the empty circle. You can also pickup the
contest instructions from the library. Digital art,
pens or markers are recommended. Return your design to the
Scripps Miramar Ranch Library front desk or email it to Melissa Barbour by May 15th.

On
April 21, the audience was enchanted with the spirited
performance of Emilia and Ruth, a mother-daughter duo featuring
voice and oboe accompanied by piano. The final piece was an
original composition of Ms. Weber honoring her mother's oil paintings
with songs inspired by the paintings. | |  |
“The
Pleasure of Your Company” concert series, sponsored by SRFOL, welcomes
clarinetist Vladimir Goltsman and pianist Dmitry Kirichenko on Sunday,
May 19, at 2:30 pm. While there are no charges for the concert, we do
appreciate your donations. Masks recommended. | | | |

Spring into STEAM
Spring
into STEAM is the San Diego Public Library’s science-focused program
series for 9 - 12 year-old students. We are partnering with local
science experts and organizations to create a truly unique educational
experience. Workshops take place both in-person and virtually in May.

Grace's Book Nook
Visit Grace’s
Book Nook, the volunteer-run used bookstore in our library, open Monday
through Saturday, for great bargains on gently used and nearly new
books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, and more.
Your
tax-deductible donations of “gently used” books are always welcome and
can be brought to the library’s circulation desk. Or, a staff
member or volunteer can assist in transferring your boxes or bags of
books into the library. At this time we are
especially seeking donations of fiction and nonfiction for
adults. What an easy way to support our library!
This month’s 2nd Saturday pop-up book sale is on May 11, 10 am – 2 pm.

New Tierrasanta Librarian Spotlight

Jeremy
Davies comes to Scripps Miramar Ranch Library from the Tierrasanta
Library, where he serves as their Branch Manager. At Tierrasanta, he
collaborates with their Friends of the Library chapter and other
community organizations like the Kiwanis, Tierrasanta Village,
Tierrasanta Community Council, and the Healthy Start Military Family
Resource Center. Jeremy first joined San Diego Public Library in 2021,
where he served as a Librarian in the Art, Music &
Recreation Service Section of the Central Library. While the
Tierrasanta library is under construction, he will be joining the staff
at the SR library. He looks forward to meeting everyone and working with
the Scripps Miramar Ranch volunteers and staff! | |
