Parking Lot Expansion Update | |

The
first phase of the library parking lot expansion project is now
complete and the upper lot has reopened, providing some nearby
access to the library. The lower lot is closed with no access from the
overflow parking area on Meanley Drive.

All San Diego
Public Library locations will be closed on Monday, July 1, 2024, for
Staff Training. San Diego Central Library will remain open. Libraries
will resume regular hours on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
All locations will also be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024, for Independence Day.

June Concert
The violin and guitar duet Alyze Drelling and
Robert Wetzel delighted the audience with their wonderful performance of
works inspired by Nicolo Paganini.
“The Pleasure of Your Company” concert series, sponsored by SRFOL, is on a summer hiatus and will resume in September.

Grace's Book Nook
Visit Grace’s
Book Nook, the volunteer-run used bookstore in our library, open Monday
through Saturday, for great bargains on gently used and nearly new
books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, and more.
While you are here, pick up some duck feed to feed our resident ducks at Evans pond.
Your
tax-deductible donations of “gently used” books are always welcome and
can be brought to the library’s circulation desk. Or, a staff
member or volunteer can assist in transferring your boxes or bags of
books into the library. At this time we are
especially seeking donations of fiction for adults. What an
easy way to support our library!
This month’s
2nd Saturday pop-up book sale is on July 13, 10 am – 2 pm.
Also, mark your calendar for the next semiannual mega book sale on
Saturday, August 24!

Mediocre Writer's Society
Students,
do you want to write but fear your writing isn't good
enough? Come write your worst to find your best at
our personal narrative workshop where you'll learn more about the
writing process, find a community of writers like you, and write
about a favorite neighborhood spot.
Snacks will be provided, sponsored by the Scripps Ranch Friends of the Library.

SDPL is offering FREE bike classes for cyclists of all ages. Learn
how to be a better biker (or skater, or rider, or...) by taking part in
these interactive On-Bike Rodeo workshops! Participants will learn how
to avoid obstacles, falls, and crashes during these free events.
Bring
a helmet (or request one 4 days before the program starts) and a bike,
scooter, skateboard or skates to take part!

for youth aged 0-18 at select libraries, parks, recreation centers, and
