Great news—Grace’s Book Nook is now open! After a temporary closure due to construction, our beloved used bookstore is back in business. Follow the YELLOW ARROWS inside the library to find the special detour route leading to the "back door" entrance and safely bypass the ongoing work. Music Program

The Scripps Ranch Friends of the Library is pleased to present the final concert of this season’s Pleasure of Your Company music series featuring the acclaimed David Borgo Trio. Join us on Sunday, June 8 at 2:30 pm for an afternoon of smooth, sophisticated jazz performed by this talented ensemble. The concert will be held at the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library and is free to attend. Donations are gratefully accepted to help support future performances. We hope to see you there for a memorable close to the season!

Add a touch of nature to your home décor! Join us for a hands-on workshop where teens and adults will create beautiful lanterns using real pressed flowers. 🔐 Data Safety Workshop – Protect Yourself Online

Join us for an engaging and practical Data Safety Workshop on Saturday, June 21, from 1–2 pm in the Community Room at Scripps Miramar Ranch Library. Presented by the Data Science Alliance (DSA), this workshop is perfect for teens, emerging adults, and older adults who want to better understand how to navigate the digital world safely. Topics include protecting your private information, spotting scams, identifying fake websites, avoiding identity theft, and sharing responsibly online.

This event is free, and light refreshments will be served. Registration is encouraged and opens June 7 at 9:30 am at sandiego.librarymarket.com, but walk-ins are welcome if space allows.


🧩 Fun & Games for Seniors

Looking for a relaxing and social way to spend your morning or afternoon? Join us for Fun & Games for Seniors in the Community Room at Scripps Miramar Ranch Library! This friendly drop-in program meets Tuesdays from 12:30–3:00 pm and Thursdays from 10:00 am–12:00 pm. Enjoy a variety of board games in great company—it's the perfect opportunity to connect, laugh, and engage your mind. Free and open to the public—no registration required!


🧠 Aging Successfully Lecture Series

Join us for two informative sessions in the Aging Successfully lecture series, taking place in the Community Room at Scripps Miramar Ranch Library on Fridays, June 13 and 20, from 10:00–11:30 am. These engaging presentations are designed to support healthy aging and provide helpful insights on staying mentally, physically, and emotionally well in later life. Whether you're a senior or a caregiver, you'll gain valuable tools for navigating the aging journey. Free and open to the public—no registration required.


📖 Manzanar: The Relocation of 120,000 Japanese Americans During WWII

In 1942, more than 110,000 Japanese Americans—citizens and residents alike—were forcibly removed from their homes and relocated to remote internment camps across the U.S. Manzanar was one of ten such camps where families lived under harsh and unjust conditions. Join U.S. Navy veteran and local historian Rudy Shappee as he presents a powerful and informative look into this dark chapter of American history. Learn why entire communities were uprooted and what daily life was like behind the barbed wire fences of Manzanar.

Fire Suppression System Work Underway


From March 3 through August 1, 2025, the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library is undergoing a critical safety upgrade: replacing and improving the fire suppression (sprinkler) system. Work will occur in phases, and areas under construction will be temporarily closed to the public. All other areas will remain open as usual.
