Do you have 2-3 hours per week in order to perform an easy yet important job which benefits both the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library and the Scripps Ranch community? If so, consider serving as a Grace's Book Nook volunteer! Grace's Book Nook is seeking a few additional volunteers to join our enthusiastic team. There are currently several openings available to help out in the Book Nook by staffing a weekly or alternate week 2½ hour shift. If you're an avid reader, like to "talk books" with others, meet community members, would like to support your library, and/or simply "give back" to your community, this may be just the opportunity you didn't know you were looking for. Read on to learn more or click this link to send an email: (Grace's Book Nook Volunteer). Grace's Book Nook is completely managed and staffed by volunteers and is the Scripps Ranch Friends of the Library's (SRFOL) largest ongoing fundraising endeavor. Over the years, the Book Nook has generated over $350,000 to support the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library Center, which is amazing considering that most items are priced at only $1 or less! And SRFOL takes good advantage of the City of San Diego's Matching Funds program, in which donations from the Friends of the Library are matched dollar-for-dollar by the City, so a donation of $1 from SRFOL becomes $2 of support for the Library. Grace's Book Nook is so successful, that approximately half of all books and other materials available for patron checkout have been made possible by funds earned by the sale of items in Grace's Book Nook—think of it as a special alchemy: creating new books from old. Have we piqued your interest in joining those library aficionados who volunteer to work in Grace's Book Nook?
