Except for City of San Diego holidays and during the week between Christmas and New Years Day, the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library is open to the public during the hours indicated below. Please note that, due to City budget cuts across all departments, hours are reduced starting March 20, 2010.

Starting March 20, 2010, only the Central Library will be open on Mondays. The following libraries will observe Sunday hours: Central, La Jolla/Riford, Point Loma/Hervey, and Serra Mesa-Kearny Mesa. Books may be returned to the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library anytime, day or night, any day of the week including holidays by depositing them in the outside book drop, which is located to the left of the main entrance near the staff entrance to the Library.

The entrance to the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library Center is located in Scripps Ranch a few hundred feet west of the entrance to Miramar Lake on Scripps Lake Drive. Patrons arriving from outside the Scripps Ranch area are advised to take the Mira Mesa Boulevard exit (Exit 16) off I-15 east to Scripps Ranch Boulevard, turn right (south) onto Scripps Ranch Boulevard, then turn left (east) onto Scripps Lake Drive to reach the Library. Alternatively, patrons can take the Carroll Canyon Road exit (Exit 15) off I-15 east; continue straight from Carroll Canyon Road onto Scripps Ranch Boulevard (north), then turn right (east) onto Scripps Lake Drive to reach the Library Center. Although parking is available at the Library Center, the parking lots may fill when concerts, community events, or special events are held. Patrons are cautioned not to park along red-curbed areas; the police will issue tickets. If the on-site parking lots are full, off-site parking is available along Meanley Drive, which is located to the south of the Library, and along Red Cedar Drive, which is located to the east of the Library. To reach the Meanley Drive off-site parking area from the Library, exit the Library parking lot by turning left onto Scripps Lake Drive, left again at the traffic light onto Scripps Ranch Boulevard, then left again at the traffic light onto Meanley Drive. Park along the street at the end of Meanley Drive, near the circle (continuing past the circle will take you away from the Library). You may also park in a city lot that can be reached by turning right as soon as you reach the circle at the end of Meanley Drive. A short, pleasant walk along a paved, lighted walkway (shown in the photograph to the left) will take you up a gentle hillside to the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library Center. To reach the Red Cedar Drive off-site parking area from the Library, exit the Library parking lot by turning right onto Scripps Lake Drive, then right again at the traffic light onto Red Cedar Drive. Park along Red Cedar Drive in the vicinity of Miramar Ranch Elementary School. Return to the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library Center by taking the sidewalk which runs along the south side of Scripps Lake Drive.
